Hobbycraft says sales of its Easter home décor range rocketed last month, as Brits adopted the US trend of decorating their homes for the holiday season.
The specialist retailer said sales of the Hobbycraft White Easter Tree rose by 43% while ceramic egg decorations soared by 397% and Easter wreaths increased by 156%.
The chain said Martha Stewart – a US businesswoman, writer and television personality dubbed ‘America’s most famous homemaker’- played a big part in enthusing UK home owners and craft lovers to decorate their homes for Easter.
Hobbycraft seasonal buyer Leona Card commented: “Martha Stewart is truly inspiring when it comes to decorating your home for seasonal events, and we’ve seen the trend for going all out at Easter catch on, as more people than ever decorated their homes with our White Easter Trees.
“2016 has been the biggest year for Easter decoration for us yet, with more people than ever before hanging homemade wreaths, baking bunny biscuits and setting up Easter egg hunts – and we anticipate it being even bigger next year.”
Hobbycraft stocks products for ‘arts, crafts, making and baking’ online and at 81 stores across the UK.
