Dunelm has launched its 2026 Delivering Joy campaign, with more than 200 stores taking part in the initiative to provide Christmas gifts for people in their local communities.
Now in its seventh year, the campaign sees Dunelm work with local care homes, schools, refuges and charities to identify people who may otherwise go without a present this Christmas.
Their gift requests are written on Delivering Joy tags, which include details about the recipient and the present they would like to receive.
The tags are then displayed on Christmas trees in participating Dunelm stores, allowing customers to choose a request and purchase a gift for someone in their community.
Since the initiative began in 2020, more than 700,000 gifts have been donated through the campaign.
Rory McAllister, Stores Director at Dunelm, said: “This is the seventh year of our Delivering Joy initiative, and we’re delighted to continue bringing together our local communities to support those who need it most at Christmas.
“We know that the festive period can be a difficult time of year for some, and the gift tags in our stores represent real wishes from those who live locally. Fulfilling one of these wishes can make a huge difference and we’re so grateful for the continued generosity of our customers and colleagues.”
The retailer said that requests often include everyday essentials such as toiletries and nightwear, while children frequently ask for pens, pencils, activity books and other presents.
Dunelm is encouraging customers to visit their nearest participating store and select a gift tag while they are available.
Those who miss out on choosing a tag can still contribute through the retailer’s partnership with Age UK.
Donation baubles are available on Delivering Joy trees in stores, allowing customers to make donations ranging from £1 to £100 at the till.
The money raised will help Age UK provide friendship, advice and support to older people experiencing loneliness or isolation.
Dunelm hopes the campaign will once again bring together customers, colleagues and local organisations to help spread some festive cheer this Christmas.
