Graham Bremer, head of marketing at AEG UK/IRE, said: “The Garden Room by AEG will be the most incredible taste experience, offering exclusive insights from some of Britain’s most influential chefs, and delectable food created using our latest domestic appliances.

“With unrivalled access to some of the country’s finest culinary minds, guests will find out how they can bring new and exciting dimensions to the tastes and textures of their own dishes using technologies like steam and sous-vide, adapted for use at home.”

The roof garden sees the retailer open its rooftop to the public for the first time. Designed by Royal Horticultural Society National Young Designer of the Year Tony Woods, it is just one of a series of celebratory events which also includes an exhibition showing how a humble draper’s shop opened on Oxford Street in 1864 has grown into the £4billion award-winning business that it is today.

John Lewis marketing director Craig Inglis added: “This will be an unparalleled dining experience on the top of our flagship store on Oxford Street. Our new roof garden, created as part of our 150 year anniversary celebrations, is the ideal space for these chefs to share their insights and skills against beautiful scenery.”
