Following the announcement that Italy is the Partner Country for German trade fair Ambiente 2016, the show has revealed that Italian designer Paola Navone will create the Italy’s ‘special presentation’.

Detlef Braun, member of the executive board of Messe Frankfurt GmbH, which organises the annual exhibition, announced the news at a press conference in Paola’s home town of Milan.
He said: “Italy and Germany are linked not only by important cultural and economic relationships. Italy is also a country renowned for outstanding design. Therefore, we are delighted that Paola Navone, a personality of high standing on the international design scene, has agreed to create the Ambiente Partner Country presentation.” Messe Frankfurt said the Partner Country presentations are ‘always a magnet for visitors’.
Paola’s portfolio includes a broad spectrum of products, from tableware clothing and beds to fabrics, lamps and jewellery, plus interior design work for showrooms and exhibitions. During her career, she has worked for companies such as Alessi, Egizia, Natuzzi, Reichenbach and Roche Bobois. She has been the creative director of the Italian furniture manufacturer Gervasoni since 1998.
Following Denmark, France, Japan and the USA, Italy is the fifth Ambiente Partner Country. In addition to the Partner Country presentation, plans include a Partner Country Day with exhibitor activities and events.
Ambiente 2016 will be held in Frankfurt from February 12 to February 16.
