AMDEA announces prize season

From Tuesday (November 1), many appliance manufacturers will be rewarding customers who register their appliances, by entering them into free prize draws.

Registering new machines or ones already owned on www.registermyappliance.org.uk will provide the chance to win a range of luxury home and lifestyle prizes.

This prize bonanza, from participating brands, will run through January to include Register My Appliance Day on January 19, which will be celebrated with further opportunities to win gifts.

www.registermyappliance.org.uk is an online safety initiative from the Association of Manufacturers of Domestic Appliances (AMDEA). It is supported by the government and local fire services, which provide quick access to the registration pages of over 60 leading brands of domestic appliances, and allows the public to register old (up to 12 years) and new appliances. Once registered, in the event of a safety action, the manufacturer will know where to find the appliance and organise the right remedy.

With no purchase necessary, the industry is urging all appliance owners to look around their kitchens and spend a few minutes getting their older machines registered to instantly improve the safety of their home and be in with a chance of a big win.

AMDEA is the UK trade association for manufacturers of large and small domestic appliances; representing over 85% of the domestic appliance industry and nearly 90% of white goods brands.Members’ products include most of the UK’s top selling brands of major white goods, other large and small kitchen appliances, heating, water heating, floor care, waste disposal and ventilation equipment.

Small appliances include air purifiers, blenders, clothes steamers, coffee machines, dehumidifiers, electric kettles, electric food mixers, fans, food steamers, hair dryers, irons, steaming water taps and toasters.
