The nation is gearing up for the eagerly anticipated Great British Bake Off final next week when the two finalists will face their last three challenges and compete for the baking crown for 2014.
According to Argos, the popular BBC series has been inspiring viewers to reach for their whisks and make copycat creations in their own kitchens.
The official Great British Bake Off range is available at the multiple retailer. Argos kitchen buying manager Dipesh Radia said: “The Great British Bake Off Pastry Board and Pastry Cutter Set are two of our best sellers from the range. Home bakers may well have been inspired by the pastry episode in week seven. Perhaps they have been trying to master Lui’s Peanut Butter Éclairs or are giving Martha’s Mini Beef Wellingtons a go.” The Great British Bake Off Traditional Scales are also among the best sellers at Argos.
The baking trend is set to continue after the hit BBC show finishes this season, with Britain welcoming National Baking Week from October 13 to 19. Sponsored by Pyrex, this is an annual event which aims to get the nation baking in aid of Great Ormond Street Hospital.
