Best foot forward! Rainy Day Trust launches Mad March Million

Rainy Day Trust, the UK charity for the home improvement workforce and their families, is starting to gear up for the Mad March Million 2022!

The concept of MMM is simple – a small team of 3 or 4 aims to walk a total of 1 million steps in the month of March – about 10,000 steps per day for each member, getting sponsored along the way.

Getting out and about and just walking is great for your mental health. The open air allows you to clear your head of its regular stresses and strains, and getting into a routine for a month helps because it forces you to go out each day to hit your step count. It’s not a marathon, or an Iron Man, but it does get people outside!

The left side of the brain controls the right side of the body and vice versa. Using both sides alternatively and consistently is called bi-lateral movement and that allows your brain to process your worries without having to sit and stare at your navel! Teams that took part last year said that they felt great afterwards and that they found it helpful to be compelled to get out and do their steps each day.

If you and a group of friends or colleagues would like to take part this year and help Rainy Day Trust through a wee bit of fundraising, you can contact Bryan Clover at bryan@rainydaytrust.org.uk to find out more or to register.

The entry fee is £10 and the Trust will send a water bottle for everyone that registers. Individuals can pay their own registration fee, or the company can pay for everyone.
