BHETA to hold webinar with ebay

The fifth in BHETA’s popular series of member webinars is to take place with online marketplace, eBay on Thursday 14 May. eBay will be represented by its head of trading, Chris Gardner and category manager for home and garden, Rosalind Bridges.  The event kicks off at 10.30 am.

They will be covering the following:

  • eBay background and trading strategy
  • Why sell on eBay?
  • A tour of the eBay site
  • eBay’s best match algorithm and marketing tools
  • How to get on board.

Following the presentation, attendees will have the opportunity to pose questions directly to both speakers.

eBay Inc was founded in 1995 in San Jose, California and now facilitates consumer-to-consumer and business-to-consumer sales through its multinational website.  During the Covid-19 pandemic and with the Government encouraging the continuance of online trading, eBay has offered what it describes as a free ‘online shop window’ for small businesses during lock down.  It has launched a 30-day payment holiday for all 300,000 UK businesses already registered on the site; and new businesses registering on ebay.co.uk will not have to pay fees to list or sell until 31st May.

Commenting on the event, BHETA’s marketing manager, Steve Richardson said, “This is the first in BHETA’s series of webinars to be delivered by a retailer; and I am anticipating it will be very well-attended.  So far, the webinar formula which we launched in April has proved popular.  There have been good numbers at each of the four events so far, which have ranged in subject matter from the legal issues for employers arsing from the crisis, to maximising digital presence on Amazon, to BHETA’s forthcoming Exclusively Digital show, to the impending tax on packaging waste.  I urge everyone interested in exploring the opportunities provided by eBay to register as soon as possible.”

BHETA’s chief operating officer, Will Jones added, “Following considerable uptake of its online member support services during the Covid-19 pandemic, it was logical for BHETA to extend the scope of the support via a webinars programme.  The fact that a retail brand as iconic as eBay is happy to join the programme is incredibly positive in what are such difficult times for many suppliers to the home enhancement industry.

“BHETA is keen to show that business can adapt and continue at this critical time and it’s great that technology is enabling us not only to keep talking and providing crucial advice, but also to help our supplier members and retail allies to keep trading.”
