Bira direct launches 'carriage-paid reduction' campaign

The campaign aims to increase the opportunity for independent retailers to restock quicker and to further manage both stockholding and cashflow.

For a limited period, 27 suppliers to bira direct in the cookshop, tableware, giftware, hardware and DIY sectors are offering a 50% reduction on their carriage-paid values to bira members. Orders placed through bira direct between September 1 and December 31 will qualify.

Bira direct uses the combined purchasing power of over 7,000 bira members to negotiate better buying terms for the independent retail members of bira (the British Independent Retailers Association) across the UK.

Bira direct buyer Steve Akers said: “With this promotion, we’re focusing on one of the key issues that restrict independents when it comes to re-ordering stock. As the key trading period approaches, this campaign will help bira members address a fundamental issue that often frustrates independent retailers – whilst at the same time potentially opening up new accounts to our suppliers.”
