Britain’s Best Home Cook starts this week

The search for ‘Britain’s Best Home Cook’ begins on Thursday (May 3) from 8pm to 9pm on BBC One.

Hosted by Claudia Winkleman, this brand new cookery contest celebrating ‘truly exceptional’ home cooks will be judged by celebrity cook Mary Berry, fresh produce expert Chris Bavin and chef Dan Doherty.

Billed as ‘an ultimate immersive cooking competition with home at its heart’, the show will bring 10 home cooks from across the country together to live in a shared house while they compete for the crown.

Over eight episodes they will face a comprehensive range of culinary challenges. Each week they must make a home favourite and then create an improvised dish around a single ingredient, before the elimination round decides who will leave.

A BBC book accompanies the series.
