A new chopping board made from 100% recycled cardboard – and which is also completely dishwasher safe – is unique, claims the supplier.
The board is the first product to be launched under the new EcoChef brand from RTA, and is representative of other products set to launch in 2008, which RTA say will offer impeccable environmental credentials to both retailer and consumer.
They will be made using a more sustainable method of manufacture, re-use materials where possible, minimise packaging and ensure that any packaging is made from 100% recycled materials and totally recyclable.
Available in three sizes, EcoChef chopping boards are also stain and odour resistant, and the company says they will not blunt knives. They also feature a small hole in one corner, making them easy to store. The product will retail from £9.99.
RTA chief executive Carl Saunders said: “We believe the EcoChef chopping board to be a unique concept and is the first example of a range of environmentally-sustainable and ecologically-friendly products we plan to introduce during 2008.”
