Cath Kidston and Yankee Candle open stores in Tunbridge Wells

Homeware brands Cath Kidston and Yankee Candle have opened adjacent stores on level two of the Royal Victoria Place shopping centre in the Kent town of Tunbridge Wells.

The 1,002sq ft Cath Kidston outlet made its debut on September 15. The brand, known for its colourful vintage style prints on homeware, was founded in 1993 in west London.

Sue Carvell, commercial director at Cath Kidston, said: “We’re really excited to open our new store at west Kent’s largest shopping centre. Our quintessential British lifestyle brand fits in perfectly with the excellent mix of retailers already at Royal Victoria Place.”

The 300,000sq ft shopping centre, which is anchored by Fenwick and Marks & Spencer, welcomed Yankee Candle on September 1. The US retailer of fraganced candles and accessories occupies a 1,014sq ft unit.

Yankee Candle head of retail development Sarah Senior said: “We’re really pleased to open the new Yankee Candle in Tunbridge Wells. We’re sure it will offer shoppers a great in-store experience and an excellent range of new and exciting products.”

Christina Holland, asset manager of Hermes Investment Management which owns the shopping centre, said: “Cath Kidston and Yankee Candle are excellent additions to our diverse line-up at Royal Victoria Place. Both are highly popular brands and offer unique product ranges to the centre’s loyal customer base.”
