Chicago show adds half a day

Next year’s International Home + Housewares Show in Chicago will run for an extra half day, its organisers announced this week.
The exhibition will open at 12.30pm on Saturday, March 10 2012 and run through to 5pm on Tuesday, March 13.

The International Housewares Association says the additional time has been added in response to growing requests, and that it will provide increased value both to exhibitors – for which the cost of exhibiting has been pegged at 2011 rates – and visitors.

Lakeland director Martin Rayner, a regular UK visitor to the show, welcomed the decision.

“A special trip to Chicago for three days is not enough time to complete the entire fair,” he said. “In fact, [the International Home + Housewares Show] has been the only important global show that is not four or five days long.”
