Chicago show chalks up boost in buyer visitors

The recently-concluded International Home + Housewares Show in Chicago saw a 6.8% increase in total buyer attendance, and significant growth in international buyer attendance.

The show was also a sell-out, with more than 2,100 exhibitors – over 500 of them new.

Phil Brandl, president of the International Housewares Association, which owns and operates the show, said that the new fourth day had also been “well received and well used based on reports from both buyers and exhibitors”.

The show saw the culmination of the new IHA Innovation Awards, with 12 housewares suppliers ranging from big brands to small entrepreneurs honoured as winners.

They were the Kuhn Rikon PushPan (Cook & Bakeware category); Jura Capresso Impressa J9 One Touch TFT (Kitchen Electrics); Rush3’s Kebo (Kitchen Hand Tools & Cutlery); Clean Cubes Clean Cubes (Home Organization & Storage); Browne USA Date Dial sealing lids (Kitchenware); Harold Import Blossom Trivet (Tabletop); Rowenta Delta Force Stick Vacuum, (Floor & Carpet Care); Energizer Ambiana desk light (Home Décor + Gifts); Humanscale Horizon LED task light (Household Electrics + Home Environment); Casabella Quick Scrub double sided microfibre spray mop (Cleaning); Veridian Healthcare iBaby Monitoring System (Personal Care + Home Healthcare); and Gleener The Ultimate Fuzz Remover (Bath + Personal Care).
