Cook’s Companion sales approach half a million

The Cookshop & Housewares Association is celebrating a record circulation for its Cook’s Companion booklet.

Launched at the Autumn Fair by CHA chairman Caroline Gordon, the 2007 Companion has gone on to sell over 430,000 copies.

“The Companion is a crucial part of our promotional armoury,” commented Gordon. “Each time we distribute copies we see an immediate impact on sales. I can’t understand why any cookshop wouldn’t want to take part.”

The latest edition features chef Gordon Ramsay on its cover, wielding the Gordon Ramsay edition Bamix hand mixer. Inside are 150 leading cookshop products, each chosen by a team of participating retailers.

As well as achieving record sales the 2007 Companion has attracted a new level of support from its 10 suppliers, with an unprecedentedly high distribution support fund. The money will be distributed to participating retailers at the Spring Fair.
