Staff at Coulsdon Home Hardware in Surrey are celebrating being announced winners of this year’s Home Hardware Christmas window competition.
All Home Hardware retailers were invited to participate in the competition, which was judged by an independent panel, and, said the judges, the overall standard of entry was exceptionally high.
As first prize winners, Alan and Lynn Harris from Coulsdon Home Hardware were awarded £100-worth of vouchers, while the second prize of £50 in vouchers went to Lennie Watson from Watson Home Hardware in Sutton-on-Sea, Lincolnshire.
In deciding a winner, the judges took into account window content, layout, use of props and point-of-sale material, lighting and overall maintenance of the displays. Coulsdon Home Hardware’s window was particularly eye-catching and well lit.
“I’m delighted to win first prize but Lynn deserves all the credit,” commented owner Alan Harris. “She has a real talent for display. both in store and the window. With Lynn’s artistic flare and the invaluable point-of-sale material provided by Home Hardware, I knew we had a recipe for success.”
