The winning artwork entered for the John Lewis at Home art competition, run in partnership with Croydon College’s department of Art, Design and Media, has been unveiled.

The panel of judges voted unanimously that Reema Sharma should have her artwork displayed in the entrance of the new John Lewis at Home shop on Purley Way in Croydon, and receive £250 of John Lewis vouchers.
The winning piece, entitled Flowers at Oakbank Grove, triumphed over more than 40 other entries received from second- and third-year degree students in the Higher Education College, studying for BA (Hons) degrees in Fine Art, Graphic Design and Photography. The competition was also open to recent graduates.
Sharma, a second-year BA (Hons) Fine Art student, created a digital mosaic to reflect the theme of home, using photo mosaic software. Searching through family albums, treasured objects and souvenirs, she used the images to recreate an overall impression of her childhood home.
John Lewis displays the artwork of many local British artists in its department stores across the country.
Croydon’s 40,000sq ft John Lewis at Home shop opened this August.
