Currys PC World launches January sale on Christmas Eve

Today (Saturday, December 24) Currys PC World launched its January sale with thousands of deals online and in-store from 9am.

Shoppers who still have last-minute Christmas presents to buy can make the most of deals from the electricals retailer across brands including Samsung, HP, Dyson and LG.

Currys PC World is expecting 4.6 million people to shop online from Christmas Eve to Boxing Day, with 11am- midday on Boxing Day predicted to be the peak shopping time online. Almost three-fifths (58%) of online visits are expected from mobile devices.

Last year, the retailer sold a TV every two seconds on Boxing Day with a peak of 2.31 orders being processed online per second. The most reserved item was the Samsung 32in Smart LED TV.

Stores will open again on Boxing Day at 8am, with selected stores opening from 6am. The sale will continue throughout January.

Steve Ager, group commercial director of Dixons Carphone, commented: “A month ago we had our most successful Black Friday to date, with shoppers taking advantage of the great deals on offer.

“While many will have used this as a chance to buy Christmas presents for loved ones, we know shoppers will be waiting for the January sale to shop for things they need themselves, rather than just gifts.

“This year shoppers can also make the most of the deals going live on Christmas Eve to snap up a last-minute festive bargain, too.”

Currys PC World’s 2016 predicted Christmas top sellers include  KitchenAid Artisan 5KSM150PSBCL Stand Mixer, Ninja Nutri Ninja BL480 Blender and the Nespresso Prodigio connected coffee machine.
