Design Letters opens first own brand store in the UK

Danish interior and lifestyle brand Design Letters has chosen the UK to open its first own-brand store in the world.

The shop launched last Thursday (December 1) in Touchwood Shopping Centre in the West Midlands. This retail and entertainment complex in Solihull near Birmingham features more than 80 stores – including housewares retailers John Lewis, Lakeland and a Nespresso Boutique (which made its debut in last month) – along with more than 20 bars and restaurants and a nine-screen Cineworld cinema.

Design Letters’ new store will showcase the Copenhagen-based company’s range of accessories including personal drinking bottles, lunch boxes, fine bone china cups, and storageware and textiles for kitchens and bedrooms, plus stationery.

As the brand name suggests, Design Letters is a mix of DESIGN and LETTERS. Founded in 2009, its collection is based on high quality designs which are all available with A-Z letters that are already sold in more than 60 countries worldwide.

Mette Thomsen, founder and creative director of Design Letters, said: “We’re immensely proud to be opening our first UK store – which is also our very first own brand store anywhere in the world.

“We chose Solihull as our first location because it has a lively, sophisticated feel and is close to the UK’s second largest city. We feel this will be the perfect spot to showcase our very distinctive collection of personal design and gift items.”
