Dexam raises over £12,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support

Housewares supplier Dexam is celebrating a year-long promotion with Macmillan Cancer Support which has raised £12,470 so far for the cancer charity.

Under the initiative, which launched in September 2016 and will continue into 2018, the company makes a donation for every Dexam spiraliser sold in the UK.

Dexam director Roger Morgan-Grenville added: We’re delighted to have partnered with Macmillan through the promotion.

“Cancer affects so many of us nowadays and this is a great way of raising not only vital funds but also awareness about the support that Macmillan can provide. It is also a great demonstration of how a company and its staff can support its local community’’

The company, based in the West Sussex town of Midhurst, is well aware of the local support that Macmillan can give to cancer patients and their families because with the Midhurst Macmillan Specialist Palliative Care Service, provided by Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust in partnership with Macmillan, is on their doorstep. The service has supported thousands of local individuals and their families over the past 10 years.

Helene Poursain, area fundraising manager for the south-east, said: “We would like to say a huge thank you to Dexam for agreeing to work with us in such a way – and to the thousands of their customers who purchased spirialisers.

The amount raised is enough to fund a Macmillan nurse for nearly three months. With 99% of our money coming from voluntary donations, we are so grateful for the support that Dexam has given us.”
