Dexam to celebrate 60th anniversary during Open House

Housewares distributor Dexam will hold its annual Open House Weeks from June 12 to June 23 – and this year there will be a special emphasis on celebrating its 60th anniversary.

The company was created in 1957 by two brothers (the father and uncle of board director Roger Morgan-Grenville). The pair began the business by travelling around the globe sourcing products for improving the home, and importing them to the UK.

Today Dexam brings products back from over 25 different countries and sells them out worldwide. As well as Dexam’s own brand, the firm distributes brands Chef’n, London Pottery, Mighty Mug, Rabbit, Chef’s Choice, Sistema, Now Designs and Chasseur.

Headquartered at Midhurst in West Sussex, Dexam recently revamped its showroom with new fixtures, new demo areas and a variety of display ideas and merchandising solutions.

Dexam managing director Bryony Dyer said: “We have planned our Open House Weeks to coincide with Exclusively Housewares [the London trade show held on June 13 and June 14) so that as many of our retail partners as possible can plan a trip to see us after the show.

“We look forward to showing new products across all of our brands – especially the Dexam textiles range, which includes the new Vintage Birdsong pattern commissioned especially for our anniversary. We can discuss merchandising options and there will be exclusive offers and a goody bag for every visitor.”
