Ex-cookshop owner writes retail self-help book

‘The Retail Entrepreneur’ discusses how Bill made a success of his retail businesses. Bill and his wife Valerie took over management of the Armorica cookshop at Petersfield in Hampshire in September 2003. Prior to that they were both caterers, running Delifrance – a franchised coffee shop in York – for five years. Bill has also worked with some of the biggest retail businesses in the UK, including Marks and Spencer, Pret a Manger, Benetton and Hallmark Cards.

The couple sold Armorica as a going concern (with three websites) in November 2009. Since then Bill has founded his own retail consultancy Bright Perspectives, and lectures on Entrepreneurial Studies, Retail Management and Marketing at The Open University Business School.

Bill said: “You have to be a Retail Entrepreneur if you want to survive in today’s tough retail world. My book draws heavily on all the development activities at my Armorica cookshop business that I implemented, including product range development and growing the business into a true multi-channel operation with the creation of three associated websites.”
