Exclusively Shows launch gift voucher scheme

Co-located London trade shows Exclusively Housewares and Exclusively Electrical have teamed up the British Independent Retailers Association (Bira) to launch a joint initiative for 2019 called Exclusively Gift.

The move follows the success of the Bira Bonus voucher programme, which was introduced in 2018 and founded by the Shows’ owner and operator Brooke House Exhibitions. Under this scheme, Bira Direct retailers were entitled to a £100 gift voucher which was redeemable against any order of £300 or more written at the show. The success of the initiative led to many new visitors to the exhibition and increased the value of orders written by £30,000.

This year the programme will be expanded to include all Bira retailers and the vouchers can be spent with any exhibitor at the Exclusively Housewares or Exclusively Electrical Shows.

To redeem their voucher, Bira retailers must get it validated in person at the Bira stand within the show (EH457) prior to use. They can then use it to get £100 off an order placed at the show with a minimum value of £300 (net of vat) or more. The exhibitors will be reimbursed when the voucher is presented at the Shows’ organiser’s office once an order has been placed. The voucher is limited to one per Bira retailer and can only be used at the show.

Brooke House Exhibitions said: ‘The voucher offers a real benefit for exhibitors. Requiring no contribution, it simply offers the opportunity to open new accounts and build business with existing customers.’

Simon Boyd, marketing and operations director of the Exclusively Shows, added: “We are delighted to be making a bigger and better initiative by extending the programme to all exhibitors, making it accessible to all. We’re sure that our co-operation with Bira offers buyers a competitive edge, and we take pleasure in the fact that Bira has chosen the Exclusively Shows as their only show to exhibit in 2019. We appreciate their extended to support for this initiative, which is of real benefit to the independent trade.”

Jeff Moody, managing director of Bira Direct, noted: “Following the encouraging feedback from both members and suppliers last year, as well as the positive uptake of members visiting the show, we’re really looking forward to exhibiting at the show this year, supporting members with a truly extraordinary offer.”

Billed as ‘the UK’s premier showcase of housewares, tabletop and small domestic appliance brands’, the Exclusively Shows will take place on June 11 and June 12 at the Business Design Centre in Islington. To date, over 125 companies have signed up to exhibit at the event.
