Fire Angel flies to top place at Home Hardware show

Fire Angel (Spru Safety Products) was the winner of the Best Display Stand Award, held during Home Hardware’s Autumn Trade Show.

Some 130 exhibitors attended the event, which was held on September 18 at the Westpoint Exhibition Centre in Exeter.

The Award was judged by an independent panel and presented by David Adams, chairman of Home Hardware. He said “I’m delighted so many suppliers have supported our Autumn trade show. It’s no surprise that retailers are drawn to well merchandised, well lit supplier stands. We appreciate that it takes time for suppliers to dress their stands, but the hard work is well worth it when retailers place additional stock orders.”

The panel agreed that Fire Angel’s bespoke stand had ‘excellent eye-catching presence’. It demonstrated how quickly a fire can spread in a kitchen and the importance of having an active smoke alarm. Its attention to detail and ‘theatre style drama’ was noted by the judges.

National accounts and marketing Manager Rob Lyon earned a cash prize of £100 and a framed certificate. RKW received the runners up prize of £50, while Apollo Housewares and Henkel were highly commended.

Meanwhile, a draw held during the show raised £525 for ELF (Exeter Leukaemia Fund). Winner of the first prize of £100 cash was Andy Brittain from Millers of Frome.

Home Hardware Southwest said it would like to thank all members, suppliers and staff who generously contributed towards this very worthy charity.
