Gift of the Year Awards 2018: winners announced

The winners of the Gift Of The Year Awards 2018 were revealed at a ceremony held on Sunday February 4 (during the Spring Fair) at The Vox Conference Centre, adjacent to the NEC in Birmingham,

Product entries for 15 categories were judged by a selection of buyers from retailers including John Lewis, Ocado, Steamer Trading Cookshop, Notonthehighstreet.com, Jarrold, Blue Diamond Garden Centres, Fortnum & Mason, Haskins Garden Centres and Brookfields Garden Centre.

Henri Davis, chairman of The Giftware Association which organised the event, said: “This year stands out both for the number of entries and the wealth of innovative and exciting products that were entered.”

Described as ‘the winner of all the winning products, as chosen by the judges’, this award was scooped by Gingko Electronics for its Octagon One Desk Light: a lamp that combines a wood-effect finish with a touch control button and in-built rechargeable battery.

 Speaking after the event, Spring Fair managing director Louise Young said: “This year’s Gift of the Year Awards was the best one yet and really highlighted the sheer breadth and depth of fantastic quality in the gift and homewares industries.”
