Gok Wan tops book chart

Style guru Gok Wan’s book on Chinese cooking has topped the UK’s weekly non-fiction hardback best sellers book chart.
Accompanying the six-week Channel 4 series of the same name, which ends on Monday, ‘Gok Cooks Chinese’ features more than 80 of the fashionista’s personal and family recipes. In his final programme on June 25, Gok dedicates himself to creating the ultimate Chinese celebratory feast.

Total sales of book to date have reached 29,577, according to Nielsen Bookscan TCM’s weekly bestseller chart for the UK, which collates real time sales from over 6,500 retailers representing over 90% of the UK book market.

‘A Passion for Baking’ by Jo Wheatley, the 2011 winner of The Great British Bake off, takes fourth place with total sales of 10,009. Two other cookery books appear in the top 10: ‘The Little Paris Kitchen’ by Rachel Khoo (57,712) holds the number seven spot and ‘Hairy Bikers’ Big Book’ by Si King & Dave Myers (70,845) is in tenth position.
