Habitat is gearing up to celebrate its 50th birthday next year and is searching for fans of the brand to appear as part of an online film that celebrates products from its collections since 1964.
For a chance to appear in the film, the brand is asking fans to come along to its Tottenham Court Road flagship store on Thursday (November 14) between 2pm – 8pm to tell their own “weird, wacky and wonderful” memories of Habitat, or to submit video entries online via YouTube and email.
“Habitat has had a huge impact on the British interiors scene and we thought it would be fun to discover what our products have meant to people and their home life over the last 50 years,” commented Jocelyn Dowden, head of marketing for Habitat.
“Our products have always been talking points and we have already started receiving fantastic stories from tales of wild partying on our Daft Punk Coffee Table from 1994, to how revolutionary the chicken brick was for roast dinners in the 1960s and, in the ’70s, the excitement of waiting for our house packs to arrive that completely kitted out your new home, room by room, even down to the kitchen cutlery! Whatever your Habitat story – we would like to hear it.”
Habitat’s audition project is now live at www.habitat.co.uk/50th and the film will be broadcast next year to tie in with the brand’s anniversary celebrations in September 2014.
