Five of the current top 10 best-selling non-fiction hardback books are cookery titles written by celebrities.

Top billing is taken by ‘The Hairy Bikers’ Great Curries’ by hirsute TV twosome Si King and Dave Myers.
The number three spot is held by ‘Bread’, written by Paul Hollywood, the artisan baker and judge of the BBC hit show ‘The Great British Bake Off’. It is followed by ‘Rick Stein’s India’ at number four.
Mary Berry, who is Paul’s fellow judge on ‘The Great British Bake Off’ sits in sixth position with ‘Mary Berry’s Cookery Course: a step-by-step masterclass in home cooking’.
The tenth spot is taken by Jamie Oliver’s ‘Jamie’s 15-Minute Meals’.
The book chart is complied by Nielsen Bookscan TCM, which collates real time sales from over 6,500 outlets representing over 90% of the UK book market. It appeared in the June 23 issue of ‘The Mail on Sunday’s’ ‘Event’ magazine.
