London department store Harrods is running a series of cookery master classes in-store throughout April showcasing couverture: a very high quality chocolate that contains extra cocoa butter.

On the afternoon of April 26, a Harrods executive chef will be creating couverture recipes, orangettes and salted caramel chocolate truffles, using a range of luxury cooking equipment, in The Gourmet Cookshop department.
Earlier this month, KitchenAid demonstrated the art of desserts and how to make marble chocolate cheesecake and chocolate cake; Nordicware showed customers how to make a Creme Egg bundt cake and chocolate vanilla pound cake; and Cuisinart gave tips on making couverture and berry pastries using the Cuisinart Sandwich Maker.
Today and tomorrow (Friday 18 April and Saturday 19 April) it’s the turn of Sage. The supplier will reveal how to make a range of chocolate desserts, including rich chocolate mousse, dark chocolate loaf cake and chocolate rice pudding.
Next Friday (April 25) Miele will create a range of Easter-themed baking demonstrations using couverture, including moulded Easter eggs, chocolate fondants and Easter brownies.
And on the last Sunday of the month (April 27), Samsung and Michelin-starred chef Josh Eggleton will be visiting Harrods to perform a three-course cookery demonstration using couverture.
All the supplier demonstrations are taking place in The Kitchen department, on the second floor of the Knightsbridge store.
