Home & Gift appoints new show director

Cleere Scamell has been appointed as the show director for Home & Gift, Harrogate, the seasonal round-up of design-led and everyday gifts, housewares, jewellery & fashion accessories, greetings & stationery, held from July 14-17 in the Yorkshire town of Harrogate.
This follows the upcoming departure of Joanna Bush, who is leaving after 14 years to relocate with her family to Singapore.

Cleere’s career in exhibitions spans over 20 years, having worked previously at DMG in both sales and as a show director. More recently, he has been providing high level event management services on Home & Gift for the past eight years.

Retail portfolio director Neil Gaisford said: “More than 50 years on, Home & Gift continues to be the favourite show for buyers and exhibitors. It’s very important to the market and we are very clear on our role in improving and developing the show, while retaining its wonderful and unique character.

“Cleere is a natural fit for this role; not only does he bring with him a wealth of organising experience at a senior level, he also knows our shows and is passionate about our customers and the future of the brand.”

Commenting on his appointment, Cleere said: “I’m delighted to be taking up this new role within such a strong and innovative event team. Home & Gift has a loyal and growing following amongst exhibitors and visitors and I particularly like the fact that our customers really enjoy attending the show.

I’m very confident that Home & Gift offers great potential for the future and I look forward to being a part of that development.”

Cleere takes up his new role on May 20.
