Home Hardware raises over £3,000 for charity

Members, suppliers and staff at Home Hardware’s Convention held at The Woolacombe Bay Hotel in Devon earlier this month raised over £3,000, to be split between three worthy charities.

A total of £400 was raised for the Shelterbox/Philippines Disaster Fund that provides emergency shelter and lifesaving supplies to displaced families, £400 was raised for Children in Need and £2,200 was raised for The Children’s Hospice South West.

The latter sum was raised in two ways. Firstly, Rug Doctor kindly loaned two carpet cleaning machines and their detergents to Home Hardware head office for staff use. As a result of monies collected from the sale of detergents, together with internal fund-raising by staff, £500 was raised. A prize draw at the convention’s gala dinner raised a further £1,700 including a particularly generous donation of £500 from one member: The Rowlands Group.
