Alexei Cowan has been appointed as the new Head of Trends at Home Retail Group, owner of Argos and Homebase. Alexei will be responsible for product and trend development across the Group.
Having trained as a furniture designer with a Masters in Industrial Design, Alexei started her career in lighting; supplying designs to high street retailers including Heals, Marks & Spencer, Laura Ashley and Designers at Debenhams. For the past eight years, she has worked at Next, both designing products and helping co-ordinate the look and feel of ranges.
Group commercial & supply chain director Maria Thompson said: “We’re delighted to welcome Alexei to our team. She is incredibly passionate about design, and focused on delivering great products for customers that are on trend.”
Commenting on her appointment, Alexei added: “This is an exciting time to join Argos and Homebase. I love helping buyers develop products in line with the latest trends – and keeping an eye out for the next big thing! I’m looking forward to bringing my experience to an already well-established team.”
