The International Housewares Association has announced that its International Home and Housewares Show is to remain in Chicago.

The organisers say they are negotiating a long-term agreement with the McCormick Place venue to keep the show in the city after new legislation was passed that will cut the cost of exhibiting at the convention centre.
The IHA said earlier this year that it was considering moving from Chicago to rival venues in Las Vegas or Orlando from 2012.
IHA president Phil Brandl said Chicago was “the ideal location for the International Home + Housewares show to be held, but only if the cost environment is competitive with other venues”.
