Housewares supplier Tabitha Mary UK receives twitter boost from business tycoon Theo Paphitis

Last week retail entrepreneur Tabitha Cross tweeted retail entrepreneur Theo Paphitis about her business during ‘Small Business Sunday’ – and was one of six winners to gain a retweet by Theo to his 500,000-plus Twitter followers.

‘Small Business Sunday’ is a weekly initiative set up by Theo in 2010 to support small businesses in the UK, which now has over 1700 #SBS winners.

As a result of the retweet, Tabitha has had a big boost in followers and orders for her products. Her company will also be profiled on the #SBS website (www.theopaphitissbs.com).

#SBS winners also have access to the exclusive members’ selling platform www.shopsbs.co.uk where hundreds of winners are already selling thousands of products, from gifts and bespoke furniture to pet toys and jewellery.

Tabitha is the founder, owner and designer behind Tabitha Mary UK, which supplies vintage style travel posters and teatowels.

She said: “I’m a little overwhelmed. It means so much to me that a business tycoon as big as Theo sees the importance of championing small businesses like myself. As a one-woman-show, this is especially poignant for me.”

Theo, who is chairman of housewares and hardware chain Robert Dyas, said: “We’re thrilled to welcome new #SBS members every week and highlight just how important it is to support our small businesses here in the UK.

“My vision is that everyone who has ever won a #SBS retweet from me becomes part of a friendly club of like-minded individuals who can share successes and learnings. The website and Shop #SBS will also give a valuable profile to the winners chosen. I wish Tabitha Mary every success.”

Anyone looking for a retweet from Theo should tweet him about their business on Sunday between 5pm and 7.30pm and include the hashtag #SBS.

Six businesses are retweeted every Monday at 8pm and then invited to enter their profile on the website, attend the annual #SBS networking event and take advantage of the networking opportunities.
