Department store group John Lewis has revealed which housewares are currently selling well on its wedding lists.
The teams behind John Lewis’ gift list say that while traditional presents are still in demand, they are also keen to showcase a more unusual assortment.
“Guests will often want to buy something colourful or memorable, rather than essentials,” discloses junior cookshop buyer Zoe Stewart.
“While our bestsellers still include products from Vera Wang and Robert Welch, a lot of couples are also choosing products like colourful kitchenware from Joseph Joseph or Bodum.’
John Lewis also offers a wide range of wedding-related services and products, from John Lewis Insurance’s wedding insurance, to personalised stationery, gift food and favours.
Meanwhile, John Lewis’ sister supermarket chain Waitrose offers a range of options including the Ultimate Celebration Cheese Cake: four tiers of British cheeses to cater for up to 120 people. There are also made-to-order wedding cakes designed by Fiona Cairns, from three-tiered styles to a bright heart-shaped celebration cake, cupcakes and cake pops.
