Just Home leaves the High Street

Independent housewares retailer Just Home at Ryde in the Isle of Wight is set to close its doors.

In a notice placed in the shop window at 35-36 High Street, owners Terry and Pauline Reeks said: “Just Home has been trading in Ryde for many years. Unfortunately we have to announce the time has come to close down the business.

“It is not of our choosing. The lease on the building has run out and the terms of the new lease are unacceptable.

“We are dedicated to finding our fantastic and loyal staff new positions, and thank them for all their support. You, the loyal and friendly customers, we thank you for your continued support. There has been much laughter (and a few tears). We will miss you all.”

The business says it must be out of the building by December 31.

In response to the news, Ryde Business Association posted a message on Facebook: “We are really sorry to see that Just Home will be leaving the High Street. This will leave a big gap in town and I know there are many loyal customers who will be sad to lose the store. We wish Terry, Pauline and all the staff the very best for the future.”
