Kenwood backs cooking in schools with sponsorship deal

Kenwood has signed a three-year deal with British Food Fortnight that will see it become a main sponsor of the event.

The partnership will allow Kenwood to help develop a knowledge of food and food preparation in schools throughout the country.

In 2007 British Food Fortnight runs from September 22 to October 7, covering the Harvest Festival period. Kenwood’s main focus for this year will be launching the nationwide Cook for Life challenge, aimed at children aged five to 16. Classroom activities give them an understanding of back-to-basics nutrition and the importance of cooking from scratch, whilst encouraging them to enjoy preparing a meal for their family.

The three schools in each region that incorporate cookery into their curriculum activities in the most imaginative and innovative ways will win kitchen appliances.

British Food Fortnight is the biggest national celebration of the diverse range of food that Britain produces.
