The Great British Bake Off star Mary Berry has launched a range of bakeware with Lakeland.

Mary Berry links up with Lakeland

The 67-strong specialist housewares chain said: “The author, television presenter, celebrity chef and baker extraordinaire Mary Berry knows a thing or two about baking – her lemon meringue pie is legendary, her traybakes are terrific and as for her Victoria sponge, well, that’s just one of the many reasons she’s known as the Queen of Cakes! She has a wealth of experience and we’re delighted to work with her.”

Mary’s first signature range of bakeware, which will be available exclusively at Lakeland, is due for delivery next week.

The range includes a Mary Berry with Lakeland traybake (£11.99). Described as suitable for 12in x 9in traybake recipes, it has a metal-hard, non-stick coating both inside and out and integral cutting guides and straight sides to ensure equal slices.

There is also a selection of Mary Berry with Lakeland Shallow PushPans in 18cm (£10.99), 20cm (£12.99) and 23cm sizes (£13.99).

Lakeland says the pans feature the same patented, leakproof technology as its original PushPans, but have been given shallower sides “which makes them perfect for a Victoria sponge as well as other bakes and cheesecakes. Ensuring your cake mix doesn’t leak out, the silicone seals on the loose bases also enable you to push the finished bake out. There’s no need to line the tin, just grease the pan well before use, and the durable, non-stick-coated carbon steel construction will release your cakes with ease.”

First launched by Lakeland in 2011, the PushPans’ silicone seal means that the tins are entirely watertight, the company claims. It adds that Mary was one of the first to try Lakeland’s PushPans and loved the results. Her only comment for improvement was that with shallower sides, the tins would be perfect for more recipes (including some of her own). Lakeland then worked closely with Mary to really develop the PushPan range, which now also includes a 12-hole non-stick PushPan (£24.99), enabling customers to create savoury and sweet bakes in individual ‘portion’ sizes.

Other products include the Mary Berry with Lakeland cake lifter (£11.99); 4in palette knife (£7.99) and 8in palette knife (£9.99), made to Mary’s specifications from Sheffield stainless steel with flexible blades; flour shifter (£2.99); acrylic cake stands (from £9.99); and aprons and double oven gloves (from £13.99).

On the launch of her new range, Mary said: “I firmly believe that, equipped with the right tools and a simple recipe, anyone can achieve great results in the kitchen. I’m truly excited to be launching my first exclusive range of bakeware with Lakeland this spring, and hope it will inspire even more people to get baking.”

She continued: “It’s important to me that the products in the range really ‘work’. It’s the little extras that make all the difference, such as the really flexible blades on the palette knives and the traybake’s straight edges and cutting guides. I have worked very closely with Lakeland every step of the way to ensure each piece is both easy to use and practical too.”
