Mary Queen of Shops signed for Spring Fair seminars

The new Future Trends Stage seminars programme, developed in association with WGSN.com, will provide directional insights into retailing in 2008/09 and is designed to appeal to buyers from both independents and multiples.

Retail marketing guru Portas is one of the UK’s foremost authorities on retail and brand communication. Creative director at London agency Yellowdoor, and previously creative director for Harvey Nichols, she also starred in this year’s BBC2 television series Mary Queen of Shops, in which she came to the rescue of ailing fashion boutiques. A second series will air next spring.

The seminar programme will also include speakers from Research International, Store Design and Fitch, along with Sebastian Conran. Content covers inspirational colour, design and consumer trend influences, as well as case studies from leading retailers sharing insights and experience on customer service, multi-channel retailing, developing online retail offer and eco-sustainable retailing.

The Future Trends Stage will be located within Spring Fair’s Home Gifts & Interiors halls, 9 to 11. The show takes place at the NEC, February 3 to 7.
