Meyer introduces Circulon A1 Series with ScratchDefense™ Technology

In order to evaluate the durability of Circulon A1 Series with ScratchDefense™ Technology, the A1ScratchDefense range underwent extensive laboratory testing that deliberately pushed the boundaries of the non-stick coating, subjecting the products to failure conditions.

One of the testing procedures employed was the Heated Metal Utensil Testing procedure, which is a Japan Industrial Standard (JIS) industry metal utensil testing procedure. This test was adapted from the JIS to be more rigorous compared to the milder JIS standard. During the Heated Metal Utensil Testing, the coated film was exposed to a temperature of 200 degrees Celsius. Additionally, a specific weight was applied to the spatula to exert pressure on the coated film. The angle at which the spatula came into contact with the coated film was set at 45 degrees.

This industry-standardized laboratory testing, which simulated 200+ years of daily wear and tear, showed that Circulon A1 Series with ScratchDefense™ Technology withstands more than 350,000 lab-conducted heavy metal scrapes of the nonstick cooking surface without scratches, lasting more than 130 times longer than the competition.
