Nespresso launches flagship boutique in London

Coffee maker supplier and retailer Nespresso opened a flagship store on Regent Street in the capital’s West End on June 26.

Alongside Nespresso’s full range of machines and accessories, the boutique houses The Coffee Room, where customers can taste Nespresso’s range of 16 Grand Cru coffees and learn how to identify the Grand Crus’ distinct notes and aromas, assisted by specially trained boutique specialists.

There is also a Club Room, offering existing and potential Nespresso Club members the opportunity to explore the privileges and services available; a Recycling Zone for club members to drop off their used capsules; and The Nespresso PickUp, where customers can place an order through the Customer Relationship Centre and collect it two hours later from the boutique.

Nespresso UK managing director Brema Drohan said: “There are now more than 270 Nespresso boutiques around the world and we’re thrilled to be introducing a flagship store to the heart of London’s West End.

“We have designed and created the boutique specifically to enhance the customer experience and the UK’s increasing desire for quality coffee. We believe we have found the perfect location where we can offer customers a unique environment in which to enjoy the Nespresso experience.”

The store’s interior design is dominated by dark to light brown and smooth beige tones, reflecting the coffee roasting and tasting experiences; splashes of red to represent the fresh coffee bean colour; and dark shelving units. Rosewood panelling adorns cream walls with custom-made porcelain floor tiles underfoot.

A second London store is due to open in Knightsbridge’s Brompton Road on July 24 (the Beauchamp Place boutique will close on July 23). The two London branches join the Manchester outlet, located in The Trafford Centre, which opened earlier this year.
