New chairman of Tillington Group

Former Squire’s Garden Centres managing director Dennis Espley is taking over chairmanship of Tillington Buying Group.

He replaces Harry McDermid, who is retiring after 16 years at the helm of the group.

Dennis Espley said: “Tillington is in fine shape and I’m very happy to carry on with the firm foundations Harry has left.”

Tillington is a buying and information-sharing group of 11 independent garden centre companies that also co-operates on various marketing initiatives,

The members are: Alton, Bents, Frosts, Hayes, Otter, Ruxley, Scotsdales, Squire’s, Van Hage, Webbs and Whitehall garden centres.
