Ocado gets Sizzling

Ocado has launched www.sizzle.co.uk, billed as ‘the kitchen and dining store with a passion for food, style and life’.

Ocado gets Sizzling

The online supermarket describes Sizzle as a standalone store that offers ‘quality, well designed and well-priced products’.

The site is divided into five categories: Kitchen, Dining, Baking, Autumn Kitchen and Wedding Gifts. Brands listed include Global, De’Longhi, Kenwood, GreenPan, Stellar, Circulon, Tefal, Brita, Pyrex, Staub, Joseph Joseph, Raymond Blanc, Tala, Kitchen Craft, Lock & Lock, Kilner, Sistema, Mermaid, Villeroy & Boch, LSA Intyernational, Wedgwood, Riedel and Waterford Crystal.

Ocado states on the website’s home page: “Whether you’re feeding the family or hosting a dinner party, we’ve got you covered – from sushi makers to cocktail shakers. And because we’re brought to you by Ocado, we’re unlike any other kitchen and dining store. We share their delivery; so can drop your orders off in one-hour slots, seven days a week. Or at the same time as your Ocado groceries and Fetch pet supplies.’

Fetch (www.fetch.co.uk) is Ocado’s standalone online pet store, which stocks more than 8,000 products, ranging from food and treats to specialist healthcare, toys, bed accessories, and more for a variety of animals.

Established in 2000, Ocado (www.ocado.com) operates a centralised distribution model which means that it does not rely upon a network of stores from which to service customers. Orders are fulfilled at highly-automated centres before being loaded onto delivery vans. Ocado delivers more than 36,000 product lines including big-name brands, Waitrose goods, a range of over 550 Ocado own-label products and now a growing non-food selection – including housewares.
