OXO’s new Top food storage containers have been awarded a coveted Red Dot product design award for 2010.

Competition in the awards is intense, with an international jury of designers looking at a huge range of products and reviewing them according to criteria such as degree of innovation, functionality and quality.
OXO’s UK marketing manager Tracy Carroll said: “Our new Top containers are the result of an intensive development process. User-based issues such as difficult fastenings that wear out quickly and the contents leaking have been eliminated and the lid innovatively designed so that it is airtight and leakproof.”
Top containers are available in eight different sizes and made from clear polypropylene. Each container features a transparent lid so that the contents can be seen from any angle, and is completely freezer and microwave safe – just lift one edge of the white frame to steam in the microwave. The collection is BPA free and safe for the top rack of the dishwasher.
Last year Oxo picked up a Red Dot award for its Pop modular storage for fresh and dried ingredients, and which features an innovative pop-up handle.
