‘Phenomenal response’ to BHETA export push

The British Home Enhancement Trade Association (BHETA) has announced that discounted grants to exhibit at the National Hardware Show in the US have sold out.

BHETA had a limited number of exhibitor grants available from the Department for International Trade to support supplier members towards the cost of exhibiting at the event, which takes place from May 8 to May 10 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

The association said: ‘This phenomenal response follows massively positive reports from our members on [recent international trade shows] Ambiente, Cologne and Chicago – plus a forceful campaign from us on the need to diversify; one way being, to export.’

Commenting on the latest sell-out initiative, BHETA housewares sector director Will Jones, who chairs the recently formed BHETA export committee, said: “This is a great endorsement for the importance of export for our supplier members. It’s just one of several forms of diversification we are promoting – but it’s one with huge potential. So this is brilliant.”

BHETA home improvement director Paul Grinsell, who will be attending the Las Vegas show on behalf of BHETA, agreed. “BHETA is enabling some really positive export initiatives including trade missions such as the recent very successful sales push in Slovenia (https://housewareslive.net/bheta-visit-to-slovenia-sets-precedent/ ) and its forthcoming follow up to Romania (https://housewareslive.net/bheta-plans-trade-mission-to-bucharest/), “ he said.

“So it’s great to see members making the most of opportunities. Export can seem daunting for companies not already involved, but BHETA is now offering some really practical support – including financial grants – as well as the in-depth experience of existing members who are willing to share knowledge and best practice.”
