Portmeirion predicts another record year

Portmeirion Group says it expects to reveal record revenues for the third year in a row when it releases its 2011 results.

Portmeirion predicts another record year

In a trading update, the tableware, homewares and gifts manufacturer says that sales for the year to December 31 will amount to over £53m, some 4% above last year’s.

Despite the continuing difficult economic environment and adverse exchange rate, 2011 sales in the group’s three largest markets, the US, the UK and South Korea, all showed increases over 2010.

Portmeirion also predicts that its profit before exceptional items and tax will be in line with market expectations. It also says that it enjoyed strong trading through December.

Along with Portmeirion, the company’s brands include Spode, Royal Worcester and Pimpernel.

The group’s preliminary results for the year are expected to be announced on March 22 2012.
