Prime time billing for BBC1’s Bake Off Christmas special

BBC1 will broadcast a two-part special of ‘The Great British Bake Off’ on Christmas Day and Boxing Day.

The first one-hour episode of ‘The Great Christmas Bake Off’ will air at 4.45pm on December 25. The second one-hour show will air at 7pm on December 26.

Each programme will feature four past Bake Off contestants who will compete to take on challenges, such as making festive bread and a trio of Christmas desserts, to impress judges Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood.

On Christmas Day Ali (series 4), Cathryn (series 3), Norman (series 5) and Mary-Anne (series two) will battle it out.

On Boxing Day it’s the turn of Chetna (series 5), James M (series 3), Janet (series 2) and Howard (series 4).

The shows, which will be presented by Sue Perkins and Mel Giedroyc, will be the final ever Bake Off episodes on the BBC.’

Channel 4 will become the new home of ‘The Great British Bake Off’ in 2017 after the broadcaster signed a three-year agreement with the producer of the hit show, Love Productions.
