Robert Dyas gets prepped for New Year house parties

Robert Dyas is promising to take the stress out of planning for New Year house parties.

The high street chain’s COO Rachel Brain said: “Nothing beats a New Year house party. And we’ve been working hard for the last 12 months to ensure that house parties held this year will be unforgettable. From party-themed appliances and that all-important mood lighting to musical treats and chic cooking apparatus, we’ve got you covered this New Year.”

When it comes to housewares, the retailer suggests that customers ‘be inspired by Abigail’s Party [a comedy of manners play for stage and television devised and directed in 1977 by Mike Leigh] with a 1970s-style Bella 1500W Swiss Fondue set (£29.99).

It adds: ‘Everyone loves popcorn, right? A SMART Retro Mini Popcorn Maker (£29.99) will score you retro James Dean [1950s Hollywood actor] points. Alternatively, a Giles & Posner Six-Piece Swiss Party Raclette Grill (£24.99) or a Bella 1800W Teppanyaki Tabletop Grill (£29.99) will have your guests beaming from ear to belly.

‘In terms of preparation, a slow cooker will enable you to cook your food during the day – leaving you more time to get your glad rags on! And when it comes to laying out your feast, a Daewoo large buffet server food warmer (£29.99) will keep your nibbles at optimum temperature.’

Robert Dyas has 94 stores, ranging from 1,250sq ft to 9,000sq ft, in the South of England. The most western store is in Yeovil, the most eastern store in Colchester, the most northern store in Solihull and the store furthest south is in Eastbourne. The company’s head office is based in Wimbledon.
