“Why shouldn’t your worktops be just as stylish as your wardrobe?” the article asks. “From the latest gadgets to drop-dead gorgeous tableware, Trish Lorenz fills your cupboards with the latest culinary kit”.

Trish’s list of top 10 entries kicks off with the Savora can opener from Creative Tops, described as “a pleasingly heavy can opener, that combines a cast metal handle with sleek, stylish lines and a splash of upbeat pink.”

It’s followed by the Mason Cash clay cooker from Rayware, Salter’s Heston Blumenthal precision oven thermometer, citrus fruit squeezers from David Mellor Design, plus Joseph Joseph’s Arena dish rack and its C-Pump soap dispenser.

Next, at number seven, is the iSpoon stylus from aplaceforeverything.co.uk. “If you’ve eschewed recipe books for online technology, you need an iSpoon. Designed to work as a stylus, it will save your tablet from becoming smudged by greasy fingers,” the report says.

Joseph Joseph appears on the list again in eighth position with its Fold flat grater. Next is the Nigella parmesan grater from uniqueandunity.co.uk. A Hamburger press sourced from lifestyle boutique Roullier White completes the top 10.

Other brands in the top 50 include a Magimix toaster, KitchenAid stand mixer and kettle, Le Creuset traditional stovetop whistling kettle, Eva Solo tea egg, Nespresso Lattissima coffee maker, Krups milk frother and Illy Coffee Francis Francis X1 espresso machine.
