Six companies from around the country have named as finalists of the Cookshop & Housewares Association (CHA) Retailer of the Year 2016 award.
The CHA is the national trade association for independent cookshop and housewares retailers in the UK. It has been supporting retailers since 1994 and is a specialist division of the British Independent Retailers Association (bira) which has been going since 1899.
The 2016 finalists are:
*Abraxas Cookshop, with four branches in Weedon, Northamptonshire; Rugby, Warwickshire; Banbury, Oxfordshire; and Northampton, Northamptonshire.
* Barnitts of York department store
*Loose’s Cookshop of Norwich in Norfolk
*Lords at Home, with six branches in and around London at Chorleywood, Hampstead, Holland Park,Northcote Road (Battersea), St John’s Wood and Westbourne Grove
*Potters Cookshop of Hockley in Essex
*Trevor Mottram cookshop of Tunbridge Wells in Kent
The winner will be announced at the Excellence in Housewares Awards, held on Wednesday October 5 at the Lancaster London hotel. The Awards are organised by Progressive Housewares magazine, in conjunction with the Cookshop & Housewares Association.
The 2015 winner of the CHA Retailer of the Year award was Potters Cookshop of Hinckley in Essex.
